Việt NamViệt Nam19/04/2024

Recently, in Thai Nguyen province, there have appeared a number of evil cults, strange religions, and illegal organizations. Specifically, the organizations Duong Van Minh, Falun Gong, Dieu Am Dharma, the Association ofEducational Psychology, the self-proclaimed "Church of God the Mother", "Ba Co Do", "Dao Ba Sinh", "Grace of Salvation"... In order to prevent people from following "evil cults", the authorities at all levels and functional branches in the province have stepped up propaganda.

The police force always sticks to complicated areas, including some communes in Vo Nhai district, to propagate and mobilize people not to follow evil religions.
The police force always sticks to complicated areas, including some communes in Vo Nhai district, to propagate and mobilize people not to follow evil religions.

In fact, illegal religious organizations in the area always "plant" unrealistic thoughts in people's minds. For example, the organization "Ba Co Do" promises a happy life in a foreign land to gather forces. "Ba Co Do" considers other religions as heresies, while it is the orthodox religion of the Mong people, causing disturbances in the daily lives of the people. In particular, it creates confusion, making people not think about working, producing, focusing on developing the family economy , causing insecurity, disorder, and social safety.

In order to prevent people from following evil religions, in the period of 2021-2023, along with directing district-level police to coordinate with local authorities to deploy a plan to fight and eliminate the organization "Ba Co Do" in Vo Nhai area, "An dan cuu sa" in Phu Do commune (Phu Luong); "Dao Ba Sinh" in Tan Long commune (Dong Hy), the provincial police have stepped up propaganda in areas considered "hot spots".

Lieutenant Colonel Nong Van Bac, Deputy Chief of Vo Nhai District Police, said: Propaganda and mobilization work plays a very important role. However, each officer needs to have appropriate propaganda methods and content to bring about positive results.

In complex areas, in a core role, the police force always enlists prestigious people and religious dignitaries to propagate people to comply with the provisions of the law; not to believe in heretical religions, strange religions, illegal organizations, and illegal religious groups. At the same time, coordinate with localities to organize propaganda on legal provisions on beliefs and religions for people.

In 2023 alone, the Provincial Police coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Binh district to direct the District Police to organize propaganda for 800 Buddhist followers in the area to implement a skillful mass mobilization model of "propaganda and mobilization of monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the district to participate in ensuring security, order, and social security" and conduct propaganda and fight against subjects following "evil religions" and "strange religions".

In addition, the police force has also implemented diverse and rich propaganda measures to mobilize people to participate in the movement of All people protecting national security.

Lieutenant Colonel Nong Van Bac, Deputy Chief of Vo Nhai District Police, shared: We have built and effectively operated the "Toan Dan Podcast" channel to disseminate content about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the fight against crime, social evils, and illegal religious activities... to the people. To date, the channel has published 53 news items, attracting over 5,000 downloads...

Regarding state management, propaganda activities have also been promoted. In 2023, the provincial functional departments, district-level People's Committees, religious organizations, and affiliated religious organizations coordinated to organize 3 conferences to propagate and disseminate laws on beliefs and religions for 900 dignitaries, officials, and followers of Catholicism, Buddhism, and Protestantism; 2 propaganda conferences for 400 people in the area affected by the Duong Van Minh organization.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Hung, Head of the Provincial Religious Affairs Committee, said: The People's Committees of districts and cities have also actively and proactively organized the dissemination of laws on beliefs and religions to local people through conferences, distributing documents, and broadcasting in residential areas. Central and local news agencies and newspapers regularly publish and broadcast programs to disseminate and guide the implementation of laws on beliefs and religions. Thereby, awareness of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on religion and religious work has been raised for agencies in the political system and the people.

With many efforts in propaganda and mobilization, up to now, most households in key areas of the province have voluntarily signed a commitment to abandon and not follow evil religions; to comply with the State's regulations on religion and belief...
