Flood control operation of Cua Dat reservoir

In recent days, there has been prolonged heavy rain in the Cua Dat lake basin. The lake water level at 8:00 a.m. on September 22 was at +108.48m, and the flow to Cua Dat lake was over 1,150 ^m3 /s.

Cua Dat reservoir spillway is preparing to operate to regulate floods.

To ensure the safety of the project and the downstream area of the project, the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation 3 (Board 3) announces the expected time and operation of water discharge to regulate the flood of Cua Dat reservoir. Starting from 3:00 p.m. on September 22, 2024 until the completion of the reservoir operation process. Of which, discharge through Cua Dat hydropower plant is 150m ³ /s; discharge through Doc Cay hydropower plant is 21m ³ /s; discharge through spillway is 200m ³ /s, the total amount of water discharged to the downstream is 371m ³ /s.

Depending on the development of the flood situation, Board 3 will adjust the discharge flow to regulate and maintain the lake water level not exceeding the elevation of +110m.

To ensure absolute safety for works, lives and property of the state and people in the downstream area of Cua Dat Lake. Committee 3 informs the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention of Thanh Hoa province, the People's Committees of downstream districts, and relevant units.
