Operate the latest CT scanner system that limits X-rays and is safe for children

The most modern Somatom Force VB30 CT scanner system will help doctors detect diseases very early, limiting the risk of omissions or errors, confusion due to imaging limitations. In particular, the "super CT machine" can be used with children because the whole body scan time is extremely fast, minimizing radiation.

This "super CT scanner" Somatom Force VB30 from Siemens Healthineers (Germany) - the world's leading country in cutting-edge medical technology, was first deployed in Vietnam at Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi in February 2025. To date, more than 4,500 cases have been screened and diagnosed early for dangerous diseases, from liver and lung cancer, risk of stroke, cerebral vascular malformations, coronary artery stenosis, heart valve disease, dangerous heart muscle...

After only 4 months, the second "super machine" has arrived at Tam Anh Medical Center in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, promptly serving the demand for high-quality medical examination and treatment that is expected to increase dramatically when the city expands into a "super city".

Currently, this "super CT machine" is still rare in the world , only available at a few leading medical centers in the US, Germany, the Netherlands... with the latest version, full functions and genuine, specialized software like this generation of machines at Tam Anh Hospital.

At the launch ceremony of the second "super machine" system, Mr. Fabian Martin Singer, CEO of Siemens Healthineers said that the Somatom Force VB30 machine has many outstanding advantages such as: Very high scanning speed, which is especially useful for patients with arrhythmia and tachycardia. Resolution, super thin slices, only 0.4 mm, useful for detecting small lesions in the body. This "super machine" also has the ability to reduce the maximum radiation dose, suitable for children, even newborns.

Mr. Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General, Representative of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam (4th from left) with Mr. Fabian Martin Singer, CEO, Siemens Healthineer (4th from right), leaders of Tam Anh General Hospital System and delegates attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and officially announced the use of the second "super CT machine" with more than 100,000 slices at Tam Anh Medical Examination and Treatment Center, District 7.

According to Dr. Ho Hoang Phuong, Director of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, this "super CT machine" is the pinnacle of CT scanning technology, the clearest and fastest ever in the EID receiver technology CT group, with the maximum number of slices and the slices that do not need to be reconstructed are extremely thin, only 0.4 mm.

The doctor cited that in the field of neurology, the machine quickly and accurately detects microscopic abnormalities in the brain and the risk of stroke. In particular, the system helps evaluate and classify strokes (cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage) super fast in just a few minutes instead of taking a long time as before.

In In the field of cancer, CT Somatom Force VB30 detects very early lesions or abnormalities of only a few millimeters in the lungs, liver, kidneys, organs, bones...

In the field of cardiology, the machine is capable of taking heart images at all heart rates, useful for people with rapid heart rate, arrhythmia; useful for cases of heart valve disease or congenital heart disease, and helps detect heart tumors as well as screen and diagnose some heart muscle diseases such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy...

In particular, with the ability to scan extremely low doses thanks to the tin filter and the automatic dose reduction Turbo Flash mode of this system, it can be used with children, including infants.

Artificial intelligence (AI) application software helps automatically calibrate and select the clearest and most useful images to help doctors diagnose quickly, conveniently, and more accurately, limiting the need for additional clinical tests to support diagnosis as before.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Christopher Scholl - Deputy Consul General, Representative of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam, commented: “The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany. During that time, German-Vietnamese cooperation has proven to be a great success, as demonstrated by the partnership between Tam Anh General Hospital and Siemens Healthineers. This collaboration illustrates the strong relationship between our two countries and the common progress in healthcare that we are proud of and motivated to continue to develop further.”

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Binh, the hospital's professional director, this medical facility currently receives more than 10% of customers from countries around the world. In addition, in the context of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau merging to form a large urban area of leading stature in Southeast Asia, the medical sector also needs to be ready to meet the great demand for health care of patients, attracting customers from many countries to come for medical examination and treatment with world-class technology but at much lower costs.
