From the plan of the Organizing Committee for Celebrating Major Holidays and Important Historical Events of the province on propaganda and organizing activities to celebrate holidays and anniversaries in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee has developed a Plan for Propaganda and organization of activities to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), 138 years of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2024), with specific activities, assigned to each unit, department and related sector, to implement each specific task, smoothly, ensuring the right schedule, bringing the best possible efficiency.

The important goal is to propagate and educate patriotism, revolutionary traditions, arouse national pride, and deep gratitude to previous generations. Today's generation of Hau Giang 's outstanding children understand and appreciate the achievements, strive to compete in studying and working to build their homeland.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: From the general direction plan, the department proactively developed a propaganda plan and organized a variety of welcoming activities, with the highlight being the propaganda in various forms, from agitation to visual, on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks; national defense, security, directives and resolutions of the Party, policies and laws of the State, focusing on propagating the achievements of the province after 20 years, the Resolution of the 14th Congress of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025. At this time, thousands of party flags, national flags, pennants, colored flags, and banners were solemnly hung on the main roads from the province to the grassroots, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate the happy day of the country and the nation.

Diverse cultural and artistic activities

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed its affiliated units to organize the exhibition of books and photos at the Hau Giang Provincial Library and the Chuong Thien Victory National Special Historical Site (Vi Thanh City) with contents about the historical event of April 30, President Ho Chi Minh, the historical event of the Victory of 75 enemy battalions by the army and people of Zone 9, the achievements of the province... The exhibition took place from April 25 to May 10.

Along with the exhibition organized by the Provincial Museum and Library, the Provincial Cultural Center organized a celebratory cultural night on the evening of May 25 at the Can Tho Provincial Party Committee Base Relic Site. This is where the meeting to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, and the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day took place on the afternoon of April 26.

The art program was invested in, with the participation of singers, artists, actors of the Provincial Cultural Center and the Provincial Military Command. More than 10 revolutionary songs, praising the heroic tradition of the nation, the changes of the homeland after many years of innovation and development, especially the changes of Hau Giang homeland after 20 years of overcoming difficulties.

Along with cultural and artistic activities organized by the province, districts, towns and cities in the province also organize cultural and artistic activities, enriching the welcoming activities, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere from urban to rural areas.

From April 23 to 26, the Vi Thanh City Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center organized a contest to promote revolutionary songs and a comprehensive art program, exchanging with the cultural - sports and broadcasting centers of Chau Thanh, Chau Thanh A and Go Quao districts (Kien Giang province).
