(Dan Tri) - Ruud van Nistelrooy has expressed his determination to help the team overcome the current difficult period. He is temporarily leading Man Utd after Erik ten Hag was fired due to the team's poor performance.
Man Utd have won just four of their 13 games this season, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League. That poor form saw Erik ten Hag sacked earlier this week and Van Nistelrooy appointed as interim manager.
He made a strong impression when leading the team to a 5-2 win over Leicester in the League Cup, while the club's leaders are in talks with Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim for the permanent coaching position.
Van Nistelrooy, who returned to Man Utd in July as an assistant, will continue to lead the team in Sunday's crucial game against Chelsea (November 3). He expressed his desire to continue contributing to the club in any role.

"As an assistant, I came here to help the club move forward. I am still very motivated to do so in any position. I am very motivated to stay here and help the club move forward. That is my absolute goal. Now I take over as caretaker coach, then I will return to the assistant contract that I have here for this season and next season," Van Nistelrooy shared at a press conference before the match.
If Ruben Amorim is appointed, he could bring his staff with him, raising questions about Van Nistelrooy's future at Old Trafford. Asked about the possibility of continuing as assistant to the new manager, Van Nistelrooy said he was willing to wait and see.

Van Nistelrooy, who played under Alex Ferguson between 2001 and 2006, also shared his feelings about Erik ten Hag's sacking. He admitted it was a difficult and emotional decision, but stressed the importance of focusing on winning to meet the fans' expectations.
"It was disappointing for Ten Hag to go, obviously there were mixed emotions, but then you have to change your mindset to win because at the end there are 75,000 people waiting and celebrating, and millions watching at home," Van Nistelrooy said.
Sunday's match against Chelsea will be a big test for Van Nistelrooy and Man Utd, as they need a win to improve their position in the rankings and regain the trust of the fans.
