Van Nistelrooy and Leicester City are making a comeback in the Championship.

According to the Daily Mail , Leicester's management has approved a transfer budget of up to £50 million for "Van Gol," a considerable sum for a team playing in the Championship next season. Van Nistelrooy and Leicester City's scouting team want to add at least four new players, especially in the attacking line, after Jamie Vardy left the team.

Leicester City are eyeing Sam Greenwood, a former Arsenal youth talent. The 23-year-old striker previously played for Arsenal's youth team before joining Leeds United in 2020. Last season, Greenwood played on loan at Preston, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists, and is considered a suitable addition to Leicester in the Championship.

In addition, "Van Gol" is also targeting Tyrell Malacia, a Manchester United defender, and Tygo Land, a young talent from PSV. These two targets could cost Leicester at least £30 million.

Van Nistelrooy took over Leicester from manager Steve Cooper in November, but the Dutch strategist was unable to prevent their relegation. Despite this, Van Nistelrooy insists he has no regrets about his time at Leicester City. "Van Gol" has a contract with Leicester until 2027.
