In a recent email sent to customers in Vietnam, Google said that from March 1, 2025, all products and services listed in the section currently operating in Vietnam will be handled by Google Vietnam Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City) instead of Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (headquartered in Singapore). On April 1, 2025, the Singapore company will transfer its rights and obligations under the advertising customer partnership contract in Vietnam to Google Vietnam.
Google Vietnam office will take over from headquarters in Singapore
The office in Vietnam will operate from the first quarter of 2025 to support partner businesses currently in Vietnam as well as the national digital transformation process. This is an office focused on business and marketing, located in Vietnam to directly support domestic partners and businesses. Google's headquarters in the APAC region (Asia - Pacific ) is still located in Singapore.
Accordingly, Google Vietnam will manage activities related to invoices and service contracts of domestic companies. When paying, customers will receive invoices in Vietnamese Dong (VND), with 10% VAT according to local law.
From January 1, 2025, Google will send partners in Vietnam a copy of the updated terms for review, and confirm that the transfer or change of the responsible company will not cause disruption to the services currently provided.
Google Vietnam Company Limited was established at the end of May 2023, managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department and last updated its tax code in early December 2024.
This change is considered positive as it helps domestic enterprises working with products and services provided by Google to have more convenience in accounting and auditing compared to before, when having to work with legal entities located abroad.
