Van Toan is not sure about his ability to play in the Vietnam National Team under coach Kim Sang Sik.

Today, June 2, the Vietnam National Team had its second training session under the direction of Coach Kim Sang Sik to prepare for the next matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Sharing before the training session, striker Van Toan said: "The players were a bit shy because they were not used to it, but by the end of the training session, they felt better. We were all happy with the atmosphere the coach created. I myself have not worked with Mr. Kim much, I do not understand everything, but I have watched coach Kim train and he will bring new points to the Vietnam team."

Sharing about the competition for positions, the striker currently playing for Nam Dinh Club expressed: "The competition for positions in the national team is very high at the moment, I try my best to achieve an official position. As before, we all strive for the goal of achieving good results for the national team. As coach Kim Sang Sik said, the players must play for victory, the national team has not achieved good results for a long time. In the upcoming matches, I will try my best."

In the first leg match between Vietnam and the Philippines in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Van Toan was one of two players who scored to bring victory to Vietnam. Fans are expecting the striker born in 1996 to be able to do the same in the second leg match taking place at 7pm on June 6.
