Japanese athlete sets record at Trang An Marathon 2024

The 4th Trang An Marathon has become a major annual sports and cultural festival in Ninh Binh, contributing to attracting and developing the local sports and tourism movement. Notably, participating athletes have the opportunity to experience and admire the culturally and historically significant landscape, exploring the Trang An World Heritage site along each leg of the race.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Binh province, said: "The competition is one of the activities to celebrate the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024 and has helped connect and spread the values ​​of national cultural heritage in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu to people at home and abroad."

The Trang An Marathon 2024 was a vibrant event, attracting up to 5,000 participants.

The race welcomed over 5,000 athletes competing in four distances: marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.0975 km), heritage exploration (10 km), and heritage route experience (5 km).

The final results showed that athlete Kabashima Kento (Japan) won the men's marathon (42.195 km) and broke the race record with a time of 2 hours 38 minutes and 22 seconds. In the women's event, athlete Nguyen Thi Tra Giang won with a time of 3 hours 0 minutes and 41 seconds.

The Trang An Marathon 2024 will feature four race distances.

Additionally, Nguyen Thuy Trang and Hoang Cuong finished first in the 5 km race. In the 10 km race, first place went to Mai Thi Bao Yen and Vu Hai Toan. In the 21 km race, first place went to Doan Oanh and Trinh Dinh An.
