He is Nguyen Tuan Linh, the man who is quietly “painting” Ba Be on the international adventure tourism map, with the brushstrokes of natural experiences. Thanks to that, Ba Be is gradually positioning itself on the international adventure tourism map, competing with famous destinations in Southeast Asia such as: Chiang Mai (Thailand) or Luang Prabang (Laos)…
Going back in time, back to the childhood of Nguyen Tuan Linh, who was born in the middle of Phu Tho tea hills because his mother did not have time to get to the hospital. His childhood was spent in the village, but in his soul, a burning desire was soon kindled to be able to travel, learn something, know something more outside of his village.
That dream became clearer one fateful day, when a foreigner appeared at the classroom door. He said: I stood timidly in the corner of the classroom, staring at every gesture of the “Western man”. Suddenly, he said: “Hello”. I boldly replied: “Hello”. A simple English word, but it opened up a whole new horizon.
So, Linh threw himself into learning non-stop, then became a local tour guide. Through the experience, he was urged to return and cherish a bigger journey: The journey to bring Ba Be to the world. And so, in 2012, Mr Linh's Adventures was born, not only a travel company, but also a story about love for nature, indigenous culture, and the people here.
Instead of massively exploiting the old ways, he chose to do sustainable tourism, connecting international tourists with the Tay, Dao, and Mong ethnic communities, introducing indigenous culture and traditional cuisine to tourists, while creating livelihoods for local people.
Trekking tours take visitors to explore majestic caves such as Tham Phay, or afternoons of rowing on the blue surface of Ba Be Lake, weaving through limestone islands and cycling routes through villages, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the life of the Tay, Dao and Mong people.
With the motto "real experience - real connection", his tours not only take guests but also teach them how to survive, learn about local culture, and live as a part of nature.
Over a decade of perseverance, from a small establishment, Mr Linh's Adventures has developed into a reputable business, with a system of homestays, trekking tours, kayaking, cycling through primeval forests and even Northeast - Northwest discovery packages. The Mr Linh's Adventures brand has been mentioned many times by international media such as BBC, Lonely Planet, and National Geographic as a typical community tourism development model.

A valuable point in Nguyen Tuan Linh is his deep awareness of protecting the natural environment and community responsibility.
He shared: If you only do business, receive money without contributing anything to nature, construction or people, then you are not a good businessman. That is the guiding principle for all activities of Mr Linh's Adventures. To create connection, the business prioritizes hiring local people as local guides.
Thanks to Mr. Linh's way of doing tourism, in recent years, Mr. Linh's Adventures has become a familiar name to tourists, especially those who love to explore. Every year, Mr. Linh's Adventures welcomes hundreds of tourist groups, including many international tourists.
After the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, our province aims to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector. In that context, the efforts of Tuan Linh and Mr Linh's Adventures become even more meaningful. He is not only a guide through deep forests and caves, but also a person who lights the flame of hope, drawing a bright future for Ba Be tourism.
