The ancient cycad grows in the cliff face, its trunk leaning long with its head pointing towards the sea.

The ancient cycad tree, located on the summit of Ong Rong Mountain in Hon Son, Kien Hai Special Economic Zone, has a long, winding trunk that curves around the cliff face, facing the sea and basking in the sun, resembling a dragon lying on a rock. Besides this century-old cycad, there are many other ancient cycad trees on the summit of Ong Rong Mountain, some of which are currently in full bloom.

Tourists enjoy taking photos with the ancient cycad.

To admire the beauty of this ancient cycad, visitors must conquer a mountain path more than 250 meters above sea level. Although the summit of Ong Rong is lower than Ma Thien Lanh, the path is winding and the vegetation is denser. Growing at an altitude of hundreds of meters, the ancient cycad still stands tall, blooming regularly and adding beauty to the mountain landscape.

The cycad flower is large and has a beautiful yellow color.

Another ancient cycad tree on Hon Son Island.

Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, a resident of Hon Son, shared: “My father told me that when he was a young man, he saw this cycad tree quite large on the mountain. Now I am over 70 years old, so this cycad tree must be at least 100 years old. Recently, the cycad tree on the summit of Ong Rong has attracted many tourists to admire it.”
