The peak summer season lasts long, so the number of passengers is concentrated in both directions. However, up to now, the ticket prices are still high and quite cheap.

In addition to increasing flights to meet the high travel demand of people during the upcoming summer peak, airlines have offered many ticket ranges and there are still many seats at quite cheap prices.
Quiet, cheap airfare
Surveying online ticket sales sites of airlines, airfares, many routes still have a lot of tickets and the booking situation is quite quiet.
For example, airfare from Hanoi to Da Nang in June ranges from 2-2.3 million VND, and in July increases to 3.2-3.6 million VND/round-trip ticket depending on the airline. Flights from Hanoi to Nha Trang in the last days of June on Vietnam Airlines range from 3.2-3.5 million VND/round-trip ticket; Vietjet Air is around 3.5 million VND/round-trip ticket. On weekends, ticket prices are slightly higher, up to 4.2 million VND.
From now until the end of June, the ticket price for the Hanoi - Quy Nhon route ranges from 2.6-3.5 million VND depending on the airline. By July, the ticket price will increase to about 4 million VND/round trip ticket.
The Hanoi-Phu Quoc route is a peak summer tourist destination every year, but now the ticket prices are very cheap and there are still many seats left. If you fly with Vietnam Airlines, the price is 3.38 million VND/round trip ticket; Vietjet and Bamboo Airways fluctuate around 3 million VND, if you choose to fly in the evening, the price is only from more than 2 million VND/round trip ticket.
A representative of an airline ticket agency believes that the domestic tourism market this summer will be quieter than the same period last year due to economic difficulties, families cut down on flight costs and often choose short trips to travel by personal vehicles, so the number of customers booking seats has decreased.
“Some international flights to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, etc. are currently very cheap, and the fact that countries are waiving visa requirements is also attracting tourists to switch their travel to these markets,” said the owner of a flight ticket agency.
Representatives of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO said that they are currently recording a rapid increase in the number of bookings, with many flights during the peak summer season having more than half of their seats filled. The airlines are implementing a flexible fare policy, with many prices, suitable for customers' spending ability and diverse service needs.
To meet the travel demand this summer, from June 1 to August 15, Vietnam Airlines Group will provide more than 7.3 million seats on its entire domestic and international flight network.
During the peak period, airlines will operate nearly 500 flights per day, an increase of approximately 30% compared to normal. Of which, the busiest domestic routes connecting to famous tourist destinations are always focused on, such as between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City with Da Nang, Con Dao, Hue, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, etc. On international routes, the destinations with the most flights are Japan, Korea and Thailand.
Reduce delays, cancellations and terminal congestion
Data from Tan Son Nhat International Airport shows that during the peak summer season from June to August this year, there are expected to be more than 150,500 trips to and from the airport (up 6.64%), with a total of nearly 24 million passengers, up 7.6% over the same period last year.
“During the long summer peak season, the number of passengers will be different from the Tet peak season, with both departure and arrival passengers concentrated. Therefore, the service of the units at Tan Son Nhat airport must be maintained at a high level and extended,” said the leader of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Assessing that the summer falls in the rainy season, the rate of delayed flights is expected to increase, affecting passengers and the terminal, causing overload at some times. Therefore, units at Tan Son Nhat airport are directed to develop a flood prevention plan, have a solution in case bad weather affects flight operations; coordinate promptly in deploying flight information at peak hours to regulate and allocate resources as well as increase exchange and review of slots (take-offs and landings) to appropriately exploit the terminal's capacity.

In addition, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has coordinated with taxi companies, contract cars, and technology cars to increase the number of vehicles in service; organized and arranged the number of rapid response teams to inspect and monitor to detect and coordinate with the Port Police Station to handle touts, illegal motorbikes, and motorbike taxis operating in the inner port area...
Considering that summer is also the time when students are on vacation, the demand for air travel and vacations increases, Noi Bai International Airport records that the number of flights and passengers is increasing every day.
These days, on average, Noi Bai airport has about 550 flights per day (350 domestic flights, 200 international flights) and 90,000 passengers (64,000 domestic passengers, 26,000 international passengers).
“Noi Bai Airport has also prepared plans; increased the number of aviation security control staff in all areas; applied information technology to calculate and forecast transport volume data and peak hours to proactively provide human resources and equipment; and increased coordination with airlines, ground service companies, and local police forces to quickly resolve any arising situations, etc., in order to avoid congestion at the terminal and parking lot,” affirmed the leader of Noi Bai International Airport.
