The district has identified infrastructure investment as a key factor, therefore, the district has taken advantage of support capital to proactively invest in infrastructure construction, especially transportation, projects to promote economic development, and welfare projects to serve people's lives.

Accordingly, up to now, the infrastructure in Dong Giang district has been invested relatively synchronously, with 100% of villages having convenient traffic routes; 96% of households using centralized domestic water; 99% of households using national grid electricity for daily life and production...

“The appearance of the rural landscape and environment has many positive changes, transportation is convenient, children study in new, spacious schools, people are enthusiastic about production, and people's material and spiritual life is gradually improving,” Mr. Avo To Phuong excitedly said.

According to Mr. Phuong, in order for the New Rural Development Program to be effective, the district has implemented focused and key investments and prioritized investment in communes striving to meet the New Rural Development standards in the 2021-2025 period. For communes not on the roadmap to meet the New Rural Development standards in the 2021-2025 period, the district has focused resources on investing in building new rural residential groups and model new rural villages as a basis for replication in the communes.

Many projects are invested to serve people's lives.

In particular, the locality is very interested in the field of production development, with the effective construction of economic models associated with the potential and advantages of the locality. The district has focused on prioritizing the development of production of products such as A Rieu chili, tea, green tea, banana, local pig farming, etc. to increase product value, create jobs for rural workers, and improve people's living standards.

Currently, Dong Giang has concentrated production models such as: growing bananas in Jo Ngay, Song Kon, and A Ting communes; growing A Rieu chili in Ma Cooih commune; growing ZaReh tea mixed with fruit trees in Ba and Tu communes; growing native longan trees in Ka Dang, Ma Cooih, and Jo Ngay communes; growing four-season lemons in Jo Ngay commune; growing oranges and green-skinned grapefruit in Ba commune; indigenous pig farming model... Many models bring in hundreds of millions of dong in income each year for households.

Prioritize community tourism development

Dong Giang is endowed by nature with a beautiful mountain landscape. Anyone who has ever visited “Dong Giang Heaven Gate” will be impressed by the towering mountain peaks and the beautiful waterfalls and caves. However, due to lack of proper investment, tourism in this land is only at its potential.

Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area creates a tourist highlight for the mountainous district

By the time the "Dong Giang Heaven Gate" Eco-Tourism Area officially opened to welcome guests in April 2022, the number of visitors was estimated to reach more than 42,000, recognizing the determination to develop systematic tourism of a key tourist area with the largest scale in the mountainous region of Quang Nam .

Up to now, after 2 years of welcoming guests, “Dong Giang Heaven Gate” has become a new attractive destination with many tourism products associated with indigenous culture, contributing to overcoming the weaknesses that existed before. It is estimated that in the period of 2022 - 2024, this tourist area has welcomed more than 120 thousand visitors.

According to Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the presence of Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area has the meaning of pioneering, awakening the potential and enhancing the position and competitiveness of mountainous tourism, contributing to promoting Quang Nam mountainous tourism in the coming time.

Currently, ethnic minorities in Dong Giang still preserve simple, rustic guol houses, traditional cultural features from festivals, folk songs, tung tung dances, da da dances... very suitable for developing community tourism.

Mr. Do Huu Tung, Vice Chairman of Dong Giang District People's Committee, said: Dong Giang is not only attractive to tourists by its magnificent natural landscape, but it is also a "meeting place" for tourists to experience, through tours to explore the daily life of the people and enjoy traditional rustic dishes, such as buffalo croissant, bamboo rice, grilled meat, rice wine, ta vat wine...

In addition to beautiful natural scenery, Dong Giang also preserves many unique cultural features of ethnic minorities, favorable for developing community tourism.

“In recent years, we have focused on building and encouraging organizations and individuals to invest in developing eco-tourism and community tourism, with the participation of local people. Typical examples include Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area; Truong Son - Song Bung Eco-tourism Area (Ma Cooih commune).

In addition, we are also continuing to promote and call on investors with sufficient resources to come to the area to research and invest in a number of projects such as: A Pang hot mineral spring eco-tourism area (Song Kon commune); Tay Ba Na eco-tourism resort area (Ba and Tu communes)", Mr. Tung added.
