Medicines, cosmetics, and food are products that have a direct impact on consumers' health. Meanwhile, the risk of fake and poor quality medicines and cosmetics is increasingly common. Therefore, in recent times, the Center for Drug, Cosmetic, and Food Testing, the Provincial Department of Health has regularly coordinated with the Drug Administration, the Central Institute for Drug Testing, making every effort in the work of inspection, supervision, application of modern technology to analyze and test drugs, quickly issuing warnings to drug businesses and people for identification. Thereby, contributing to preventing the circulation of substandard medicines and cosmetics on the market.
Pharmacist CKI Dao Minh Dong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing Center said: "As a member of the Provincial Consumer Protection Association, the Center has participated in inspection and examination teams, thereby detecting samples of drugs and cosmetics that do not meet quality standards. The Center has sent reports to the management agency for handling according to the provisions of law to prevent the circulation of drugs and cosmetics that do not meet quality standards in the area, contributing to ensuring consumer rights."
With its assigned functions and tasks, the Market Management Department of Yen Bai province has proactively fought, prevented and handled acts of trading in smuggled goods; combating the production and trading of counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin; acts of infringement of intellectual property rights; acts of violating the law on measurement, quality, price, food safety; acts of violating the law on consumer protection and other acts of commercial fraud according to the provisions of law in the province. Member units of the Provincial Association for Protection of Consumer Rights and Trade also organize many specialized inspections and audits, participate in monitoring the goods market; regularly update legal regulations and information on quality management on the websites of the units.
At the same time, organize many activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day (March 15); encourage and mobilize production and business units to actively participate in response activities; print and hang banners in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day at supermarkets and commercial centers in the province. With many practical solutions, consumer awareness is increasingly improved.
Ms. Dinh Thi Tam in Yen Ninh ward, Yen Bai city shared: "I have a habit of reading information before deciding to buy a product. If the product information is unclear or shows signs of abnormality, I will ask the seller carefully or not buy. Goods must have clear price listings and transparent information so that housewives like us can feel secure using the product."
Raising awareness of responsible consumption and transparent information not only helps consumers to be better protected but also creates the premise for the economy to develop in a green, clean and sustainable direction. Especially, in the context of integration and strong development of e-commerce, controlling the quality of products and services becomes more and more important. Therefore, both businesses and consumers need to join hands to contribute to building a healthy business and consumption environment, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the province.
