More than a decade of lighting up the Han River
15 years have passed with 10 times of organization, DIFF has always been the focus of every summer when people mention Da Nang. This period of time is also long enough for every tourist and resident of Da Nang to witness and feel the strong change of the city of Han River. From a gathering place of poor fishing villages, shabby slums, Han River - the annual venue of DIFF has risen to transform strongly into a poetic river, a river of light... DIFF is one of the reasons why the number of tourists flocking to Da Nang is constantly increasing every year. 2008 - the first year of DIFF, Da Nang welcomed more than 1.2 million tourists , achieving revenue of more than 810 billion VND.
By 2019, Da Nang welcomed 8.6 million tourists, with revenue reaching nearly 31,000 billion VND, an increase of 38 times after more than 10 years.

According to statistics, during more than a month of DIFF 2019, the number of visitors to Da Nang reached nearly 1 million, revenue from the commercial tourism industry reached nearly 3,245,000 billion VND. Hotel room occupancy during the festival always reached 65-70%, notably 4-5 star hotels, with occupancy reaching 75-85%. DIFF has created a strong driving force for commercial and service business activities, while creating more jobs and revenue for people and businesses during the event.
Expecting the "specialty" dish of DIFF 2023
Looking to the world , Korea has also built the International Fireworks Festival brand to develop tourism. Of which, the three largest annual fireworks festivals in the "land of kimchi" are: Pohang International Fireworks Festival (September), Seoul International Fireworks Festival (October) and Busan Fireworks Festival (November). The most famous in Korea is the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, which was recently held again in 2022, after a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic. It is estimated that about 1 million visitors came to watch the colorful fireworks displays at famous locations along the Han River, where the festival took place, bringing excitement back to Seoul after a period of stagnation due to the pandemic. DIFF 2023 is also expected to extend its winning streak of more than a decade, creating a boost in tourist growth for Da Nang city this summer.

Every summer, DIFF is anticipated not only by audiences and residents, but also by businesses and units related to the tourism industry, from accommodation, dining, shopping to entertainment... During DIFF 2019, some businesses confirmed that the number of customers booking tours to Da Nang during each fireworks season increased by 30-50%. DIFF is also a magnet that attracts a series of accompanying events at famous entertainment and tourist areas of the city, creating an unprecedented excitement for Da Nang's summer. This year, along with DIFF 2023, destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park... will organize a series of festivals and events throughout the summer, turning Da Nang into a top destination in the summer vacation choices of many tourists.
With the theme “World without distance” and the participation of 7 international teams from England, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland and the host team Da Nang - Vietnam, DIFF 2023 promises to bring eye-catching and new fireworks performances, quenching the “thirst” for tourism products for visitors and city residents after 3 years of the pandemic. The opening night and final of DIFF 2023 will also be broadcast live on VTV1, Vietnam Television.
With less than 2 weeks left until the official opening of DIFF 2023, according to the representative of the Organizing Committee, the opening night and final tickets have been sold out online. This shows that the heat of DIFF has not decreased at all.

“Before the pandemic, almost every year I took my family to Da Nang to celebrate the city’s fireworks festival. It has become a brand associated with Da Nang, like Hue has its Festival, Ha Long has its sea carnival, Sa Pa has its rose festival… This year, my family will definitely return to enjoy the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival after several years of interruption,” said Doan Huy, a tourist from Hanoi.
DIFF 2023 will also be guaranteed in terms of quality when Sun Group continues to be the enterprise accompanying the People's Committee of Da Nang City in organizing the festival. With the mission of "Beautifying the lands", Sun Group has also initiated the "WOW Vietnam" campaign to accompany Vietnamese tourism, honor attractive destinations across the country, and at the same time promote Vietnamese tourism to the world. DIFF 2023 is the focus of the campaign, part of the "WOW Da Nang" series of activities.
