Why are teachers at a specialized school proposed to have a sharp increase in income?

According to information from Ho Chi Minh City National University, this university will propose to apply mechanisms and policies to support additional income for teachers, civil servants, and workers like teachers at other public schools in the area.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City National University will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to develop mechanisms and policies to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council to implement a mechanism for officials of the Gifted High School to enjoy additional income according to Resolution 98/2023 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Ho Chi Minh City National University, the Gifted High School is one of the leading specializedhigh schools, with an outstanding role and capacity in discovering and training talented students and contributing to the high-quality human resources of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general.

However, although headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City and currently training students in Ho Chi Minh City, teachers at this school have not received additional income like public school teachers in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Resolution 185/2023 issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on the state budget revenue and expenditure estimates for 2024, the maximum additional income coefficient applicable for 2024 is 1.5 times the salary scale and position.

With this level of payment, teachers can receive from 7 to more than 23 million VND/month depending on their rank and position. Specifically, a grade III preschool teacher who completes his/her tasks excellently will have an additional income of about 7.37-17.1 million VND/month.

A grade II preschool teacher who completes his/her tasks excellently will have an additional income of 8.2 to 17.4 million VND/month. A grade I preschool teacher who completes his/her tasks excellently will have an additional income of about 14 to 22.3 million VND.

Meanwhile, for primary, secondary and high school teachers of grade III, who have completed their tasks excellently, their additional income is 8.2-17.4 million VND/month. Primary, secondary and high school teachers of grade II, who have completed their tasks excellently, their additional income is 14-22 million VND/month.

Primary, secondary and high school teachers, grade I, who complete their tasks excellently, have an additional income of 15.4-23.7 million VND/month.
