Why should we rearrange two national universities?

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City National Universities are proactively reviewing, rearranging, and streamlining their affiliated units to address existing problems, shortcomings, and limitations, and focus on development goals.


The above is the sharing of Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University Vu Hai Quan at the working session of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha with the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the arrangement of these two universities is based on scientific arguments, breakthrough thinking, innovation, international experience, current context, situation and trends ineducation and training.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Ministry of Education and Training and the two national universities to urgently establish a working group with the participation of relevant ministries and branches to complete a report on the organizational model of the two national universities and the reform and streamlining plan.

The two national universities need to systematically evaluate the formation and development process to build a project to arrange and streamline the apparatus to ensure democracy and science.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the work of perfecting, arranging, and streamlining the organization and apparatus must help the two national universities become more autonomous, in which, State resources invested in key national scientific and technological research, teaching, innovation, and creation must be separated.

At the same time, the consolidation work also promotes autonomy for units, research centers, development, technology transfer, etc., according to business orders and social needs.

It is known that the two national universities are proactively reviewing, rearranging, and streamlining their affiliated units to resolve existing problems, shortcomings, and limitations, focusing on development goals and set missions.

"We will terminate the operations of ineffective units and focal points; merge and supplement the functions and tasks of departments and units with overlapping and overlapping functions," said Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University Vu Hai Quan at the meeting.

Agreeing with the opinions of some scientists, Prof. Dr. Dao Trong Thi, former Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture - Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, former Director of Hanoi National University, said that the plan to arrange two national universities needs to inherit the advantages of the national university model over the past 30 years, especially key investment in facilities, coupled with high autonomy...

Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Chairman of the Council of Science and Training, Hanoi National University, shared that the arrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus of the two national universities must meet the new mission in the era of development based on knowledge, science and technology; truly the foundation and appearance of the country's scientific intelligence.

"To fly high, fly far, fly fast, the organization of the two national universities must be tighter, more streamlined, and more effective," said Professor, Dr. Vu Minh Giang.
