Today, August 24, Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam National University, organized direct admission for new students of K70 who were just admitted to the school.

As of late this afternoon, more than 4,200 candidates have completed admission procedures and become new students of Hanoi University of Technology.
This year, the school will consider admission based on 3 methods: Hanoi National University's competency assessment test scores, high school graduation exam scores, and SAT international competency assessment certificates. The school will convert foreign language certificates for admission, and add up to 3 points for candidates who have won excellent student awards at the national, provincial, and Hanoi National University levels...
Statistics show that, out of more than 4,200 candidates admitted, 192 candidates achieved an absolute admission score of 30/30 points to enter the school. Note that the admission score is different from the candidate's high school graduation exam score because it includes bonus points, priority points for the subject, and priority points for the region according to the regulations of the school and the Ministry of Education and Training . Without bonus points and priority points, this group achieved 27 points or more in the combination of 3 graduation exam subjects, 98/150 points in the competency assessment test, or SAT from 1440/1600 or more.
Among 192 candidates with a perfect admission score of 30/30, information technology ranked first with 79 candidates, computer science with 50 candidates, and artificial intelligence with 33 candidates.
There are 2,625 candidates who confirmed their admission with an admission score of 27/30 or higher (accounting for 62%). The standard score to enter the school is from 22.14 - 28.19/30 points, the highest is for information technology.
Tran Nguyen Hien Minh is one of the candidates with admission scores of 30/30 who came to complete admission procedures this afternoon at the University of Technology. Hien Minh is a former student of the Physics class, High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Hien Minh's "assets" when applying to the school are quite impressive with an SAT score of 1,550 (top 1% in the world); IELTS 8.0, Second prize in Physics in the excellent student exam at Hanoi National University; Silver medal in the Natural Science Olympiad in Physics; high school graduation exam scores: Math 9.5 points, Physics 9.5 points and English 8.5. In which, the IELTS certificate of 8.0 is converted to 10 points, so Minh's A01 combination score (Math, Physics, English) is 28/30 points. In addition, Minh also received points from excellent student awards, so his admission score is absolutely 30/30 points.
Hien Minh shared that he chose the artificial intelligence major at the University of Technology because he saw great potential in the future. Majoring in Physics, with a passion for Math and programming, Minh confidently affirmed that his abilities were suitable for the chosen major.
Minh said he chose artificial intelligence partly because he liked it, and partly because the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to the foundational work that allows machines to learn with artificial neural networks by two physicists, John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton. "Why is this problem not in Mathematics or Computer Science but in Physics? It makes me more curious and excited because it is my major and my favorite field," Minh said.
Minh aims to study well during university so that after graduation he can work at FDI companies or do research on artificial intelligence.
