Hot, Vietnamese aviation logistics attracts capital from billion-dollar funds

(Dan Tri) - The strategic investment cooperation in ALSC is the first deal that AP Moller Capital cooperates with VinaCapital to invest in the transportation sector in Vietnam.

On September 3, AP Moller Capital - a global fund management company investing in infrastructure - announced a strategic investment partnership in ALS Cargo Terminal Joint Stock Company (ALSC) through the Emerging Markets Infrastructure Investment Fund II (EMIF II).

AP Moller Capital is a global investment fund manager focused on expanding critical infrastructure needs, particularly in the areas of transport, logistics and energy transition. AP Moller Capital is a member company of AP Moller Holding, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.

VinaCapital is currently one of the investment and asset management groups in Vietnam with a total value of nearly 4 billion USD, covering many fields. This investment is the fund's first investment in the field of aviation logistics.

ALSC is a member company of Aviation Logistics Joint Stock Company (ALS), playing the role of an important link connecting the flow of export and import goods right at Noi Bai International Airport. The main role of this company is to operate the cargo terminal.

Aviation Logistics Company was established in 2007, its main business is providing air cargo services, warehousing services and other logistics services in Vietnam. According to the audited financial report for 2024, the major shareholder holding nearly 10% of Aviation Logistics' capital is Noi Bai Cargo Services Joint Stock Company.

Every year, Aviation Logistics earns trillions in revenue. In 2024, in the context of the aviation industry recovering, the company earned 1,718 billion VND in revenue, a 26% increase over last year.

According to the WorldACD Air Freight Trends Week 34 2025 report, air cargo volumes originating from Asia- Pacific increased by 8% last week, as economic activity in Japan returned to normal after the Obon holiday, leading to global growth of 4%.

This trend is similar to the same period last year, that is, after three consecutive weeks of decline, global air traffic volumes recovered by 4% in week 34. Global average rates also increased for the second consecutive week by 1% but remained below the previous year's level.
