"Beautiful sister" Bui Lan Huong talks about the power of culture, moved by a song

(Dan Tri) - Bui Lan Huong said she feels honored to join artists in spreading cultural values ​​imbued with national identity to today's young generation.

The year 2025 will witness the blossoming of cultural and artistic projects imbued with Vietnamese identity. Recently, the MV Vietnam Quintessence attracted attention when it gathered 11 singers from many generations including: Lam Truong, Phuong Vy, Phan Manh Quynh, Bui Lan Huong, Isaac, Huong Tram, Bui Cong Nam, Lam Bao Ngoc, GreyD, Cao Ba Hung, Nguyen Hung.

The song was composed by musician Nguyen Hai Phong, inspired by the flow of Vietnamese identity and the desire to pass on national cultural values ​​to the younger generation.

Singer Bui Lan Huong, who is in charge of one of the most important lines in the song, shared: "Rarely has there been a song written about the theme of honoring the quintessence of the Vietnamese people that is so beautiful and heroic."

Bui Lan Huong said that the first time she heard the demo, she got "goosebumps" and felt honored to contribute her voice to the project. The female singer especially liked the lyrics: "From culture comes quintessence". She said: "Sometimes people think that wealth is about money, but in fact, culture is the root. We must have culture before thinking about other material benefits".

Musician Nguyen Hai Phong revealed that he spent many months continuously selecting suitable singers, who were not only good at their profession but also had a spirit of attachment to the culture. He called this “a journey to find people who are like-minded, sympathetic, and in tune with Vietnamese culture”.

“Each person contributes a short sentence, but they are pieces with great power,” musician Nguyen Hai Phong confided.

In the studio, he worked directly with each artist, editing every little detail to maintain the spirit of "continuing the quintessence". Young artists said they were really "touched" when recording this song. Singer Bui Cong Nam shared: "I believe that as long as I do everything decently, I will bring a positive message to society."

One of the remarkable behind-the-scenes moments was the scene where Lam Truong and GreyD met in the studio. That seemingly simple moment touched the spirit of connection in music , showing the intersection of generations.

Singer Lam Truong emotionally shared: “I feel like I see myself from many years ago. Music is incredibly magical in bringing people together, making us more mature and maybe even younger.”

Notably, appearing in the MV are the main actors from 3 outstanding Vietnamese films of the year: Kaity Nguyen of Sky Deathmatch , Nguyen Hung, Lam Thanh Nha of Red Rain and Ho Thu Anh of Tunnels: Sun in the Dark .

Ho Thu Anh said that she felt like she “had another opportunity to spread the Vietnamese spirit”, while Lam Thanh Nha compared this convergence to “small pieces of wood coming together to form a big boat to set sail together, to a land further from shore”.

In addition, the MV also recreates unique art forms such as clown opera, ball dance, cup dance... As soon as it was released, this special combination received many positive responses from the audience, reaching more than half a million views after nearly 1 day.
