Defeating Laos, U22 Malaysia surpassed U22 Vietnam
"The final match between U22 Vietnam and Malaysia will be very dramatic and exciting," Arthur Krotraim from Thailand commented on Asean Football after witnessing the U22 Malaysia team win over U22 Laos with a score of 4-1 in the second match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games men's football at Rajamangala Stadium on the evening of December 6 (Vietnam time).

In this match, U22 Laos surprisingly opened the scoring after only 3 minutes of play thanks to defender Bounphaeng's goal after he had a tricky shot outside the penalty area.
However, U22 Malaysia still maintained the necessary calmness in their playing style and equalized in the 33rd minute by successfully taking advantage of the mistake of the U22 Laos defense.
In the second half, the "Malayan Tigers" created a dominant game when they scored 3 goals in a row, in the 59th, 62nd and 90th minutes respectively, to win 4-1. This victory will make the final match between U22 Malaysia and U22 Vietnam extremely attractive and dramatic when the ticket to the knockout round will belong to the winning team.
Notably, in the final match, U22 Malaysia has an advantage over coach Kim Sang Sik's team as they only need a draw to advance thanks to a better goal difference, while U22 Vietnam needs to win all 3 points to secure a place in the next round.
Speaking ahead of the final match between two teams from two football backgrounds with a lot of "fated ties" in 2025, many Southeast Asian fans are excited, believing that there will be a lot of exciting drama.
"The next match, U22 Vietnam has a strong and good squad. The final result is 1-3 between U22 Vietnam and Malaysia," an account from Malaysia teased about a winning scenario for the home team.
"After this victory of Malaysia, U22 Vietnam will be worried to the point of losing sleep," commented Vijt Tutur from Indonesia.

"Congratulations to U22 Malaysia. This is proof that they are stronger than U22 Vietnam," said Thiha Tun, an account from Thailand.
"Vietnam U22 team likely booked a flight back home before December 11 after witnessing Malaysia U22 beat Laos 4-1," Khairul Izuan, a Malaysian account, confidently declared.
"Don't be too complacent. A big win against the weakest team in the group, U22 Laos, does not mean U22 Malaysia has a ticket to the knockout round. They have to prove their true ability when they face U22 Vietnam in the final match," Adam Rashid, a Malaysian account, cautiously expressed.
"U22 Malaysia just made the last match more exciting, let's wait and see what they can do when they face U22 Vietnam. Class will say it all," Minh Hieu from Vietnam concluded.
