[Video] Global Stroke Alliance Conference, Elevating Regional Medicine

The Global Stroke Alliance (GSA) 2025 Conference, jointly organized by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi from July 24-26, focused on tackling stroke – the leading cause of death and disability globally, with approximately 12.2 million new cases each year.

The conference brought together stroke experts from more than 15 countries to discuss policies to improve the quality of stroke care, with a particular emphasis on knowledge of acute stroke and endovascular therapy (effective treatment for ischemic stroke).

Within the framework of GSA 2025, Bach Mai Hospital was awarded the Advanced Stroke Center certificate by WSO, becoming the first hospital in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to meet the new WSO standards. In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Duy Ton also received the "Spirit of Excellence Award" from WSO for his outstanding contributions to the stroke field.

This conference and awards demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of stroke treatment and standardizing emergency procedures and treatment for stroke patients worldwide , especially in Vietnam.
