[Video] Expanding health insurance benefits: Coverage for home medical examination and treatment from July 1

NDO - According to the provisions of the Law amending and supplementing the Law on Health Insurance in 2024, effective from July 1, health insurance participants will have expanded medical examination and treatment benefits, notably the health insurance fund will cover the costs of medical examination and treatment at home.

According to Clause 16, Article 1 of the Law, the Health Insurance Fund will pay for medical examination and treatment at home, remote examination, family medicine, periodic pregnancy examination, childbirth, rehabilitation and technical services, medicines, and medical supplies within the scope of payment. This is a new point that has never been seen in the current Law.

In addition, patients with rare diseases, serious diseases or diseases requiring high technology according to regulations of the Ministry of Health are also paid 100% of medical examination and treatment costs when going beyond the line, without needing a referral letter as before.

This provision is in Clause 14, Article 1, supplementing Article 22 of the 2024 amended Law on Health Insurance.
