[Video] Ho Chi Minh City: 100% of wards, communes and towns have met the conditions to declare the end of the measles epidemic

On June 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that, up to now, 100% of wards, communes and towns are eligible to declare the end of the measles epidemic, of which 228 wards, communes and towns have been declared the end of the epidemic and the remaining 45 wards, communes and towns are completing procedures, aiming to declare the end of the epidemic in the entire city.

Since the beginning of the year, Ho Chi Minh City has recorded 9,599 measles cases, including 5,503 inpatients and 4,096 outpatients. Notably, the number of measles cases in the city has continuously decreased since the beginning of the year.

As of June 20, all 273/273 wards, communes and towns are eligible to declare the end of the measles epidemic.

The City Department of Health will continue to proactively and uninterruptedly implement measles prevention and control activities.

At the same time, parents should take the initiative to get their children vaccinated fully and on schedule. When children show signs of fever, rash, cough, runny nose, etc., they should be taken to a medical facility for examination and timely treatment to avoid dangerous complications.
