Vietnam in the same group with Thailand in men's football at SEA Games 32

According to the draw results, in men's football, U22 Vietnam is in Group B with Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Laos. Group A has the presence of host Cambodia along with Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and Timor Leste.

Men's football has 10 participating teams including host Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Timor Leste, Thailand and Vietnam. The 10 teams are divided into two groups of 5 teams each. The top two teams in each group will advance to the SEA Games semi-finals.

U22 Vietnam is currently the defending champion at 2 consecutive SEA Games under the leadership of coach Park Hang-seo. In this tournament, new coach Philippe Troussier will face a big challenge in defending the gold medal of Vietnamese football.

In women's football, 9 teams participated in football. The women's team at the 32nd SEA Games is divided into 2 groups A and B, competing in a round robin to calculate rankings to select the 2 teams with the best results in each group to compete in the semi-finals.

Vietnam's women's team's opponents in Group A include the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia. In Group B, host Cambodia will face Thailand, Singapore and Laos.

According to the schedule, Group A of men's football will take place from April 29 at Morodok Techo National Stadium, while Group B will start on April 30 at Prince Stadium. Meanwhile, the matches of women's football will take place from May 2 to 15, at RSN Stadium and Army Stadium.

The 32nd SEA Games will take place from May 5 to 17 in Cambodia, held in 5 competition locations: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep. The 32nd SEA Games will have a total of 37 sports with 581 events. The goal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation is to win more than 100 gold medals and be in the Top 3 overall.
