Vietnam achieves high results at the 2024 Asian Mathematics and Science Olympiad

At the 2024 Asian Mathematics and Science Olympiad, Vietnamese students achieved high results with 4 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals.

Vietnamese students won many prizes at the Asian Math and Science Olympiad.

On November 16, information from the Vietnam Physics Association said that at the 2024 Asian Science and Mathematics Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools (ASMOPSS) recently held in Indonesia, Vietnamese students achieved high results with 4 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals.

Specifically, Tran Duc Hai (Ngoi Sao Hanoi Primary, Secondary and High School - Hoang Mai) and To Hoang An (Pascal Primary and Secondary School) won Silver medals in Mathematics.

Students Do Bao Nam (Ngoi Sao Hanoi Primary, Secondary and High School - Hoang Mai) and Nguyen Tan Gia Nguyen (Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) won Silver medals in Science.

Students Do Tran Binh Minh (Ngoi Sao Hanoi Primary, Secondary and High School - Hoang Mai) and Vo Thi Mai Phuong (Nguyen Truong To Secondary School) won Bronze medals in Mathematics.

Students Ngo Mai Kha (Singapore International School), Tran Thanh Phong, Nguyen Tran Duc Minh (Ngoi Sao Hanoi Primary, Secondary and High School - Hoang Mai), Nguyen Duc Hai Lam (Giang Vo 2 Secondary School), Do Xuan Chi Hieu (Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted) won Bronze medals in Science.

In addition, the Vietnamese team also won many prizes in team competitions.

The Asian Math and Science Olympiad is a playground for students to interact and exchange experiences with friends in the Asian region and other countries around the world .

Vietnamese students share the joy of victory.

ASMOPSS is a prestigious math and science competition for 2 age groups: Primary (from 10 to 13 years old) and Secondary (from 14 to 17 years old), initiated by Professor Yohanes Surya and first launched in 2011 in Indonesia, gathering talented students from all over Asia.

This exam is not only a knowledge platform that encourages students to realize the importance of Mathematics and Science in solving real-life problems, but also an international playground for students to exchange and share experiences with friends in the Asian region and other countries around the world, thereby expanding their vision and skills in the fields of Mathematics and Science.

The 2024 ASMOPSS International Competition will take place in Banyuwangi Regency, Indonesia from November 11 to 16. Candidates will take part in two rounds of theory (individual) and practical (team) competitions. In addition, candidates will participate in scientific experience activities and cultural exchange programs.

The host country brought its unique culture through its warm welcome.

The 2024 ASMOPSS International Competition will be held in Banyuwangi Regency, Indonesia.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang, lecturer at Hanoi National University of Education, head of the Vietnamese delegation attending ASMOPSS 2024, said: The competition is an attractive scientific playground. The host country has brought unique cultural features through warm welcome and traditional dishes right from the first days of the delegation's arrival in Indonesia.

In addition to the theoretical and practical exams, the ASMOPSS organizing committee and students also had fun and learned through picnics and extracurricular activities to explore the beautiful land of Indonesia and enhance the spirit of teamwork.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang shared that ASMOPSS is not just a Math or Science competition. Through this competition, students have had a great experience, made many international friends as well as trained their spirit well to continue to achieve high results in the next competitions and continue to bring pride to Vietnam.

To enter the final round of the ASMOPSS 2024 competition in Indonesia, students were carefully selected by the Vietnam Physics Association. These are individuals who won the Championship, Gold and Silver prizes from the National Final Round with the participation of more than 1,500 candidates. The Vietnamese team participating in ASMOPSS 2024 has 35 students, participating in both Primary and Secondary levels.
