On May 8, the Asia-Pacific Domain Name and Domain Name Server Forum (APAC DNS Forum 2025) took place in Hanoi with the theme "Inclusive Internet: Connecting People, Creating the Future."
Taking place over 3 days from May 7 to May 9, APAC DNS Forum 2025 is an event hosted by the International Organization for Assigned Names and Numbers - ICANN, in coordination with the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology .
According to the Organizing Committee, this conference is not only an in-depth technical event but also a convergence of vision, cooperation and shared responsibility for the future of the global Internet.
Regarding the results of Internet resource management and development in Vietnam, VNNIC Director Nguyen Hong Thang affirmed that after more than 27 years of global connection, Vietnam's Internet has developed remarkably.

Through efforts to manage the country code top-level domain name “.vn”, promote DNSSEC security standards, support the transition to IPv6 and strengthen the national domain name server and Internet exchange system, Vietnam has established a safe and reliable Internet infrastructure.
Mr. Thang said that currently, the Vietnamese national domain name “.vn” ranks second in ASEAN with more than 660,000 domain names. Vietnam is also in the global top 10 in IPv6 adoption, with more than 65% of users accessing the Internet via IPv6.
“We believe that the discussions at the forum will foster an innovative, multilingual and secure DNS ecosystem, ensuring that the Internet continues to be a strong platform for growth, integration and trust,” Mr. Thang emphasized.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized the importance of developing digital infrastructure as the foundation for digital transformation, and pointed out: “Internet infrastructure, including DNS infrastructure, is an important component of digital infrastructure. Managing to ensure the safety and reliability of the national DNS system, and developing the popularization of the national domain name “.vn” to develop the digital economy and digital society is an important task."
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong also said that the Internet is moving to a new phase with an extremely large number of connections. Many new forms of connection and new services have been born; however, Internet resources, domain names, and the DNS system are still the identification layer - the starting point of all digital connections, playing an essential role in ensuring the reliability and safety of the digital space.
“Vietnam always accompanies and cooperates with the international community in developing an open, safe and inclusive Internet. We look forward to extensive cooperation with partners in the region and around the world to build a digital future for everyone,” Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong affirmed.
