Vietnam welcomes agreement between Israel and Hamas

Vietnam welcomes the agreement between Israel and Hamas to soon end the current conflict in the Gaza Strip and appreciates the mediation and reconciliation efforts of countries that helped reach this agreement.

On October 14, in response to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to Israel and Hamas officially approving a ceasefire agreement, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:

“Vietnam welcomes the agreement between Israel and Hamas to soon end the current conflict in the Gaza Strip and appreciates the mediation and reconciliation efforts of countries that helped reach this agreement.

We call on all parties concerned to seriously comply with the agreement, create conditions for achieving a two-State solution, and move towards a sustainable and lasting peaceful solution to the Palestine issue.

Vietnam supports and stands ready to actively contribute to the international community's efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip on the basis of respecting national sovereignty and principles of international law as well as the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”./.
