The exhibition aims to strengthen the connection between Vietnamese and Japanese supporting industry enterprises and promote domestic manufacturing and production, taking place from August 6-8, 2025 at the ICE Exhibition Center in Hanoi .
Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Department of Trade Promotion spoke at the press conference
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Agency said that in recent years, Vietnam's supporting industry has made remarkable progress, playing a fundamental role in increasing the added value and competitiveness of the processing and manufacturing industry.
By the end of 2024, Vietnam's supporting industry will have more than 6,000 enterprises operating in the textile and garment industry; automobile manufacturing and assembly; leather and footwear; mechanical engineering and electronics. The supporting industry has contributed to the development of a number of Vietnam's key industries, helping Vietnam increase its trade surplus from 2 billion USD in 2017 to more than 28 billion USD in 2024.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu affirmed: “Supporting industry is the foundation for sustainable development of the manufacturing industry. However, currently, Vietnamese enterprises only meet about 10% of domestic demand for components. Therefore, organizing international exhibitions, accompanying enterprises in digital transformation and green industry are necessary solutions to improve supply capacity and participate deeply in the global value chain.”
Signing of cooperation agreement to organize VME and SIE Exhibition 2025
In that context, VME and SIE 2025 Exhibitions are considered as a strategic trade promotion platform, connecting Vietnamese enterprises with international investors and buyers, especially Japanese corporations such as Toyota, Canon, Denso, etc., which are increasingly looking for domestic production partners to increase the localization rate and diversify supply sources.
Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa, Chief Representative of JETRO in Hanoi, said: “According to JETRO’s survey in 2024, up to 56.1% of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam plan to expand investment in the next 1-2 years, and 50.9% want to increase purchases from Vietnamese partners. This is the highest rate in ASEAN, showing that Vietnam is a strategic destination in the global supply chain.”
Ms. Dhamcharee Varaporn, General Director of RX Tradex Thailand and Vietnam, commented: “2025 is a pivotal time for Vietnamese enterprises to restructure, promote technology and develop sustainable thinking. VME and SIE are not just exhibitions, but also places to nurture strategic industrial links for the future.”
VME and SIE 2025 are not only trade promotion events, but also tools to promote the development of the supporting industry ecosystem, create high-quality jobs and strengthen Vietnam's position in the global value chain. The exhibition is expected to gather more than 200 enterprises from more than 10 countries and territories: Japan, Korea, Germany, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Vietnam...
