The two sides expressed their delight at the positive development of Vietnam-Thailand relations, especially the official upgrading of the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Political and diplomatic relations are increasingly close and trustworthy; economic, trade and investment cooperation continues to be a solid pillar; cooperation in other important areas such as science and technology, tourism, education and training, culture, transportation and people-to-people exchange continues to achieve many new achievements.

Assessing that economic, trade and investment cooperation has always been a bright spot in bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa suggested that Vietnam continue to facilitate and pay attention to removing obstacles for Thai enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam.

The two sides also agreed to encourage businesses of the two countries to expand business and investment; facilitate market access for goods of the two countries, and strive to soon bring two-way trade turnover to 25 billion USD in a more balanced and sustainable direction.

The two Ministers agreed to coordinate in implementing new methods to promote tourism cooperation, including tourism connectivity initiatives in the ASEAN region.

The two Ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening the friendship between localities of the two countries, promoting people-to-people exchanges and promoting the role of the Thai-Vietnamese community in Thailand as a bridge of friendship in developing the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Sharing the results of the negotiations between the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand and the Prime Minister of Cambodia in Putrajaya, chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia as the Chair of ASEAN 2025 on July 28, Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa said that the two sides have reached a ceasefire agreement, starting from July 29. Thailand wants to resolve the dispute with Cambodia by peaceful means.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed Thailand and Cambodia's agreement to a ceasefire and said Vietnam is paying close attention to developments in the situation.

Affirming that Thailand and Cambodia are both close friends of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son hopes that both sides will exercise restraint, not use force, and peacefully and satisfactorily resolve disagreements on the basis of fundamental principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter, and the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed that Vietnam is ready to play an active role in helping the two countries implement the ceasefire agreement and cooperate in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, for the long-term interests of both sides and the region.
