At noon on July 17, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Future Stars 2025 Tournament. The Vietnamese girls' opponent was U21 Canada.
Against a young opponent from America, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa’s students were rated higher thanks to their experience and understanding in playing style. Despite some difficulties in the first set, the Vietnamese girls still showed their bravery and overcame their opponents with a close score of 26-24.
In sets 2 and 3, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team completely took the initiative. Diverse playing styles and good coordination helped Nguyen Thi Phuong and her teammates win easily with scores of 25-13 and 25-16, thereby closing the match with a 3-0 victory.
This victory brought the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to the semi-finals of the Shanghai Future Stars 2025 Tournament. Coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa and her team will likely face the Netherlands U21. This team is rated higher than France U21 in the remaining quarter-final match taking place at 6 p.m. today (July 17).
The stable performance and maturity of the young players help the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continue to demonstrate their role as a seed in the tournament. At the same time, this will be an important step towards international goals in the near future.
