Continuing the tradition of "Discipline and Unity"

Việt NamViệt Nam11/11/2024

Eighty-eight years ago, the historic General Strike of November 12, 1936, by over 30,000 miners, united by the spirit of "Discipline and Solidarity," under the leadership of the Party, against the oppressive regime of the French colonialists and their collaborators, achieved a resounding victory. Throughout various historical stages of construction and development, generations of miners have always preserved and nurtured the tradition of "Discipline and Solidarity," creating the inherent strength of the coal industry and the workers in the mining region…

Throughout the history of the coal industry, generations of miners have contributed to the construction of coal mining sites, bringing machinery deep underground to produce "black gold" for the nation. During those difficult times, "Discipline and Unity" became the guiding principle throughout the construction and development of coal industry units. Currently, the coal industry is mining deeper and deeper, continuing to face pressure from production costs, labor safety, and unpredictable natural disasters. However, whenever the coal industry encounters difficulties and challenges, the spirit and tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the miners are amplified and highly promoted.

After more than a decade dedicated to mining, coal miner Dang Tuan Vu (Mining Workshop 12, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company) has risen to become an exemplary worker with a high income within the Group. Having spent many years working underground, Mr. Vu understands the hardships of miners very well. Despite facing many difficulties and challenges, in any position or task, he and his colleagues always unite and strive to overcome obstacles.

Mr. Vu shared: "Typhoon No. 3 disrupted work and affected the lives of miners. Overcoming difficulties, we always demonstrated a strong spirit of solidarity, working together to overcome the consequences and quickly stabilize production after the storm. Mining work is quite arduous, but we work in a highly organized and disciplined environment, where everyone has the opportunity to train, strive, and grow. Upholding the tradition of 'Discipline and Unity,' during the work process, we always maintain a high level of concentration on every assigned task, no matter how small; ensuring maximum utilization of useful time and focusing on strictly adhering to procedures, permits, and construction methods so that the products produced meet standards and do not require rework. To ensure daily work and labor productivity, I always learn and become proficient in using new equipment and technologies, and arrange work efficiently to achieve high productivity and good product quality."

For the miners of Hon Gai Coal Company, the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" has always been cherished and upheld by generations, regardless of the circumstances. Mr. Hoang Pho Buong, Team Leader of Production Team No. 2, Workshop No. 1 - Giap Khau (Hon Gai Coal Company), shared: "The tradition of 'Discipline and Unity' has been passed down and emulated by generations of miners, becoming a valuable lesson in solidarity and the spirit of discipline and unity passed down from our ancestors to today's generation. This is the key to helping us overcome all difficulties and challenges, and fulfill the tasks assigned by the unit. Continuing to uphold the tradition of 'Discipline and Unity,' we are constantly researching and developing goals and plans for organizing coal mining in the longwall with the lowest possible cost reduction, highest efficiency, and ensuring safety at all production sites. At the same time, we are improving our skills to meet the increasing demands of specialization."

Throughout various historical periods, the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" has always been cherished, preserved, and nurtured by generations of cadres and workers in the coal industry, transforming challenges into opportunities, especially in the current volatile and unpredictable economic climate. This is the foundation that helps TKV (Vietnam Coal Corporation) achieve breakthroughs and stabilize production and business during this difficult period. In the first 10 months of 2024, the Group's total revenue is estimated at over 137,000 billion VND, reaching 102.5% compared to the same period last year; raw coal production reached 30.66 million tons; earth and rock excavation reached 118.1 million ; tunnel excavation reached 218,415 m; and coal consumption reached 37.76 million tons.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of TKV, stated: In the context of the coal industry facing numerous difficulties and challenges, more than ever, the spirit of "Discipline and Unity" continues to be a great driving force and spiritual support, urging every cadre and worker in the coal industry to intensify labor and production emulation, turning challenges into opportunities; stabilizing and boosting production; and continuing to affirm the position of a leading national economic group. In the coming time, TKV will perfect the "Coal Production and Trading" model; and at the same time prioritize the development of circular economy models suitable to the Group's business model and organizational management.
