Viglacera has just been required to pay about 11 billion VND in fines and corporate income tax arrears for the period 2018-2022.
On January 12, Viglacera Corporation announced that it had received a decision to impose administrative penalties from the Large Enterprise Tax Department (General Department of Taxation). Accordingly, Viglacera was fined more than VND1.4 billion for false declarations leading to a shortage of tax payable from 2018 to 2022.
The tax authority also required the company to pay an additional 7.1 billion VND in outstanding taxes to the budget. In addition, Viglacera must pay nearly 2.5 billion VND in late tax payments. The total amount of administrative fines and arrears that Viglacera must pay is about 11 billion VND.
According to preliminary business results announced on January 10, Viglacera estimated to have achieved pre-tax profit of more than VND1,590 billion last year. This result exceeded the full-year plan by more than 30%, but still decreased by 31% compared to 2022.
This year, the company targets revenue of nearly VND13,500 billion and pre-tax profit of more than VND1,200 billion. Viglacera plans to reduce profits as it expects the world economy to recover slowly and may still face difficulties in the first half of 2024. The company will focus on overcoming remaining problems in 2023, as well as focusing on implementing state investment divestment.
Currently, the largest shareholder of Viglacera is Gelex Group Joint Stock Company, which holds more than 50% of the capital. The Ministry of Construction still owns about 38% and has planned to divest all of this capital.
