VIMC is honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal. |
Three decades of overcoming challenges and reaching further.
Established on April 29, 1995, initially named Vinalines, VIMC started with a charter capital of less than 1,500 billion VND, a fleet of 49 ships, and only 6,900 meters of port facilities. Through many ups and downs, especially the 2008 global financial crisis, VIMC faced numerous difficulties, at times teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.
However, thanks to the sound guidance of the Government and the tireless efforts of the leadership, officers, and crew, VIMC has undergone a comprehensive restructuring, focusing on three core areas: seaports, maritime transport, and maritime services. The enterprise has boldly cut down loss-making units, innovated its management and business methods, and adopted a new working mindset with a "customer-centric" strategy.
Outstanding achievements
Through groundbreaking solutions, VIMC has gradually recovered and developed strongly. From a negative equity of 4,600 billion VND, it has increased to 17,000 billion VND. Currently, VIMC has transformed into a publicly traded company with a market capitalization exceeding 100,000 billion VND, managing more than 16 key seaports, accounting for nearly 30% of the cargo market share through Vietnam's seaport system, and owning a fleet of ships with increasingly improved transport capacity, reaching many countries around the world .
