Three decades of overcoming the waves and reaching far
Established on April 29, 1995 with the original name of Vinalines, VIMC started with a charter capital of less than 1,500 billion VND, a fleet of 49 ships and only 6,900 meters of wharf. Through many ups and downs, especially the global financial crisis in 2008, VIMC faced many difficulties, at times standing on the brink of bankruptcy.
However, thanks to the correct direction of the Government and the continuous efforts of the leadership, cadres, officers and crew members, VIMC has comprehensively restructured, focusing on three core areas: seaports, maritime transport and maritime services. The enterprise has boldly cut off loss-making units, innovated management and business methods, and applied a new working mindset with the strategy of "Taking customers as the center".
Outstanding achievements
With breakthrough solutions, VIMC has gradually recovered and developed strongly. From negative equity of VND 4,600 billion, it has increased to VND 17,000 billion. Currently, VIMC has transformed into a public enterprise with a capitalization value of over VND 100,000 billion, managing more than 16 key seaports, accounting for nearly 30% of the market share of goods through the Vietnamese seaport system, and owning a fleet of sea transport vessels with increasingly improved transport capacity. reaching out to many countries around the world .
