The Party and State always pay special attention to the work of mobilizing and promoting the role of prestigious people in building the great national unity bloc. That was the statement of General Luong Cuong, Standing member of the Secretariat, at the 2nd "Village Support" Program in 2024, which took place recently in Hanoi . The event was jointly organized by the Communist Magazine, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Border Guard Command.
Nearly 200 delegates honored at the program are prestigious people, bridges between the government and the people, core forces in patriotic emulation movements, and solid spiritual "support" of villages, hamlets, and localities.

The program aims to honor and promote the role of prestigious people in border and island areas; promptly commend the extremely important contributions of prestigious people in the community and those with outstanding achievements in implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" and the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation". Thereby, replicating and spreading good practices, good examples and encouraging and motivating prestigious people to continue to make more contributions to the development of each ethnic community. It can be seen that the program is a meaningful activity, aiming to recognize and honor the contributions of prestigious individuals in the community. The program not only creates opportunities to honor prestigious people, individuals who have made many contributions to the development of the community, from mobilizing and encouraging people to participate in social activities, to maintaining order and security. Honoring prestigious people will encourage other individuals in the community to make more efforts in participating and contributing to local development, while creating positive role models for the younger generation; strengthening solidarity and cohesion among community members, creating an environment of mutual support and cooperation in building the homeland. Those honored are often those who have a voice and influence in the community. They can help convey development policies, raise people's awareness of their rights, obligations and support programs from the State. By honoring prestigious individuals, the program will promote these people to become leaders in implementing sustainable development programs in the locality. The second "Village Support" program in 2024 is not only an opportunity to honor prestigious people in the community but also a practical activity to connect, support and develop the community, contributing to the common development of border and island localities./.Thanh Tung
