After easy victories in the outer rounds, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team confidently entered the final match of the AVC Challenger Cup against host Indonesia.
With the home field advantage, the Indonesian women's volleyball team put a lot of pressure on the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. However, in the first set, the Vietnamese women's team played brilliantly and won by a margin of 25-18.
But in set 2, Indonesia adjusted their playing style, they pushed the ball to the main attacker Megawati. In addition, Indonesia's serves were also very powerful, exposing the weakness of the first set of the Vietnamese women's team. Ineffective first-pass situations made coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team always fall into a state of chasing when Indonesia played with determination. At the end of set 2, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made great efforts to equalize the score, but at the decisive moment, Indonesia showed their bravery and finally won 27-25.
The victory in set 2 helped Indonesia's spirit rise very high in set 3 while the Vietnamese women's volleyball team showed confusion in coordination. Thanh Thuy and her teammates often made mistakes, creating opportunities for Indonesia to take a deep lead and have a relatively easy victory 25-21 in set 3.
The fourth set continued to witness Indonesia's rise, the other team showed their determination to end the match in this set. However, at this time, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet gave reasonable instructions to Thanh Thuy and her teammates. Thereby, the Vietnamese women's team won 25-19.
Entering the decisive set, the two teams gave an exciting back-and-forth performance. The gap of 1-2 points was created by the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. The atmosphere was suffocating when the Vietnamese girls advanced to 15 points, and then the match ended with a 15-13 victory for Coach Tuan Kiet's team.
