The province currently has nearly 14,300 people with disabilities. Ms. Nong Bich Thuan, President of the Provincial Red Cross Association, said: For people with disabilities, physical deficiencies are a disadvantage, but the greater disadvantage is the inferiority complex and loneliness in the soul. Therefore, along with material support programs, the association pays special attention to activities to care for the spiritual life of people with disabilities, helping them to express themselves, affirm themselves and live a useful life in the community.

Thanks to the support of the Provincial Red Cross Association, my family has participated in the disabled singing contest many times. In particular, in 2025, my whole family was selected to participate in the Northern Disabled Singing Contest in Thai Nguyen and received the impressive family award. That is a great happiness, a source of spiritual encouragement that helps my family become more united, confident and optimistic in life.
Along with that, from 2021 to now, the association has also organized 2 programs to honor exemplary disabled couples to recognize and spread beautiful stories about love, determination and advancement in life. Thereby, arousing faith, encouraging disabled people to boldly step out of their complexes and confidently integrate. For example, at the end of 2021, the association successfully organized an exchange program to honor "Exemplary disabled couples". Here, disabled couples shared touching stories about the process of overcoming difficulties and complexes to find each other and build a happy family life.
Typical examples are the couple Duong A Co (born in 1983) and Vi Thi Nham (born in 1984), Dong Kinh ward. When he was young, Co contracted measles and suffered complications that caused his eyes to lose their sight. Growing up, to support himself, he studied and followed the massage profession and met and fell in love with Vi Thi Nham in 2010. Co said: We came together with nothing, with love, perseverance and encouragement from both families, we have overcome each difficult period together. Currently, my family life has gradually stabilized as we both work in the massage profession to make a living, both children are healthy, achieving good and excellent student results every year. That is a great motivation for my wife and I to constantly strive to improve every day.
In addition, the association regularly surveys and promptly grasps information on the living conditions and difficult circumstances of the subjects and mobilizes agencies, businesses, and philanthropists to support and give gifts.
