Vovinam and Pencak Silat bring more medals to Vietnam

On the morning of May 7, the Vietnamese Vovinam team won two Silver medals. In the final of the mixed men's and women's basic technical team event, the Vietnamese team with athletes Le Duc Duy, Nguyen Hoang Du, Huynh Khac Nguyen, Lam Thi Loi, Mai Thi Kim Thuy, Nguyen Thi Hoai Nuong achieved 266 points to win the Silver medal.

The host team Cambodia won the Gold medal with 270 points.

Previously, in the final of the men's machete doubles event, Lao athletes Chanthasida and Piengpanya won the Gold medal with 270 points. Vietnamese athletes Nguyen Truong Tho and Do Ly Minh Toan only won the Silver medal with 267 points.

Also this morning, Vietnam only won 2 Bronze medals in Pencak Silat. In the semi-finals of the women's tunggal Pencak Silat event, Vietnamese athlete Vuong Thi Binh scored 9,915 points, losing to the Malaysian athlete (9,960 points) and only won a Bronze medal.

Similarly, in the men's tunggal event, athlete Pham Hai Tien also stopped in the semi-finals against his Malaysian opponent and only won a Bronze medal./.
