Car suspected of carrying banned goods hit and killed 3 people in Long An: Murder case initiated

Regarding the case of a car suspected of carrying prohibited goods hitting Major Nguyen Xuan Hao, a traffic police officer of Long An province, and two residents in Duc Hoa district, causing death, on April 23, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Duoc and leaders of the police and functional agencies of Long An province came to burn incense to express condolences, visit and encourage the family of the traffic police officer.

Regarding this incident, Long An Provincial Police said that the Long An Provincial Police Department has decided to prosecute the case of “Murder”. According to initial information, after checking the suspect’s vehicle, the police seized 5kg of solid crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine and 4 cakes suspected to be heroin.

Working with the subject, the authorities searched other locations in Duc Hoa district. Thereby, they detained 3 related subjects and seized an additional 1kg of solid crystal suspected of being methamphetamine and 14 cakes suspected of being heroin.

The driver of the car with license plate 49C-296.01 confessed to using drugs. The Long An Provincial Police Department is completing the case file to prosecute the driver.

Previously, on April 22, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee and Long An Provincial authorities also visited the family of Major Nguyen Xuan Hao and the two victims.
