The case of a teacher strangling a colleague in school 'seriously violated teachers' ethics'

The Ministry of Education and Training said that the assault of a teacher in Dak Lak by a colleague is a serious violation of regulations on teachers' ethics and negatively affects the teaching environment.

On October 9, the Ministry of Education and Training said it had received reports from the press that on the morning of October 3, a math teacher at Vo Nguyen Giap High School (Dak Lak) assaulted another teacher right in the schoolyard.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this behavior seriously violates regulations on teachers' ethics and negatively affects the pedagogical environment.

The Ministry of Education and Training requested the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training to urgently inspect, verify and report the above incident to the Ministry of Education and Training (through the Department of Teachers and Education Management Staff) before October 14.

The Ministry noted that the report needs to clarify the developments of the incident, the responsibilities of relevant groups and individuals, and the handling measures that have been taken.

Previously, Tuoi Tre Online reported that Vo Nguyen Giap High School (Ea O commune, Dak Lak province) reported a case of a teacher assaulting and strangling a colleague because he was reminded to park his vehicle properly.

According to the school principal, the incident happened right on school grounds, during working hours, in front of many students, causing a stir in public opinion and affecting the school's reputation.

The school has reported to the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, requesting that the authorities review and handle Mr. Dang Tang's behavior according to the law.

Previously, in January 2024, Mr. Dang Tang was disciplined by Vo Nguyen Giap High School for violating teachers' ethics, violating the body and insulting the honor and dignity of students.

In January 2025, he continued to be disciplined with a warning for the same reason.
