On July 15, Mr. Hoang Cong Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, Da Nang City - informed that the authorities had inspected the business household that the Lao tourist group complained about for high prices and "rip-offs".
The urban rules force made a record of violation against Ms. L. - the owner of a stall selling grilled meat skewers.
Accordingly, after receiving the feedback information, on the afternoon of July 14, An Hai ward authorities came to inspect the business household of Ms. NTNL (residing in Ngu Hanh Son ward).
At the time of the inspection, Ms. L. placed her cart on the sidewalk at 3 Duong Dinh Nghe, An Hai Ward. This is a street where street vendors and soliciting customers are prohibited.
The authorities have asked Ms. L. to move her cart off the sidewalk and not to do business in locations or on routes where street vending is prohibited.
The area selling grilled meat and snacks is a route that prohibits street vendors and soliciting tourists.
Regarding the complaint about the "rip-off" behavior of Lao tourists, the People's Committee of An Hai Ward will invite Ms. L. to work tomorrow, July 16.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong , on July 14, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City said it had coordinated with the People's Committee of An Hai Ward to check information reflecting on a Lao tourist complaining that a sidewalk restaurant was charging high prices.
Previously, an article appeared on social media saying that a Lao tourist was "ripped off" while buying street food on Duong Dinh Nghe Street (An Hai Ward).
According to the article, the group of customers ordered 4 octopus skewers, 2 okra skewers, 1 chicken feet, 3 Chinese sausages and were charged a total of 760,000 VND. When the customers questioned the price, the seller returned 200,000 VND, meaning the group had to pay 560,000 VND for the above snacks.
