The program “Red Bull – positive energy accompanying the Vietnamese women’s football team at the 2023 world arena” was organized by VFF in coordination with the sponsor to honor the talent, efforts and excellent performance of the Vietnamese women’s national football team in regional arenas and at the same time bid farewell to the team before leaving for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

At the ceremony, representatives of TCP Vietnam Company - Red Bull brand presented valuable gifts including 1 billion VND in cash and 36 gold medals engraved with names and personal imprints to the players and coaching staff of the Vietnam women's national football team. This is a reward to congratulate the female warriors of the golden star for their excellent performance in breaking their own record, setting a new record as the first team to win the championship in 4 consecutive SEA Games, bringing the total number of championships won by the team to 8 times.

The women's team was awarded 1 billion VND in cash and a gold medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, VFF Deputy General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi emphasized that in recent times, Vietnamese women's football has continuously achieved many miracles, including winning gold medals at 4 SEA Games. In particular, in 2022, for the first time, the women's team won the right to participate in the 2023 FIFA World Cup. To prepare for this big arena, the women's team has had many useful training trips, including a training trip in Europe, where the team had a match that received attention from the world media, against the German women's team. Mr. Khoi expressed his belief that with the support of sponsors, the women's football team will continue to be successful in the future.

Representing the sponsor, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huan - General Director of TCP Vietnam shared that with the group's mission of "Energizing, Revitalizing" through sponsoring teams, including the women's team, it will ignite the flame of sportsmanship and contribute to inspiring millions of Vietnamese people.

After winning the SEA Games, the women's team has been actively training to prepare for the World Cup. During the recent training period in Europe, the Vietnamese women's team had 4 friendly matches with quality opponents. As a result, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team won 2-1 against the youth team of Eintracht Frankfurt and 2-0 against Schott Mainz. In the remaining two matches against the Polish U23 women's team and the German women's team, the Vietnamese women's players played well and only lost with a score of 2-1.

After returning from Europe, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have 10 more days of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before leaving for New Zealand on July 5 to get used to the training and competition conditions at the 2023 Women's World Cup. During the training period in New Zealand, the Vietnamese women's team will have two more important friendly matches with host New Zealand on July 10 and Spain on July 14.

As planned, tomorrow morning, June 28, the team will listen to a FIFA lecturer talk about the competition rules of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
