"Top student at a specialized high school"

Our first impression of Thuy Hang was that she was a gentle, simple student who nonetheless exuded confidence and dynamism. Even in the fourth grade, Thuy Hang was a top-performing student at her school. With her all-around excellent academic achievements, Hang had many options to join the gifted student teams at Vo Ninh Secondary School.

In the 6th and 7th grades, Hang achieved many successes in the math and English competitions for gifted students. And in the 8th grade, Hang began to cultivate a love for chemistry because, for her, this subject offered many interesting and special things.

Through her tireless efforts in studying and the guidance of her teacher, in just her first year of focusing on preparing for the Chemistry Olympiad, Hang won second prize in the district-level competition. And after only one year, this young student excelled and won first prize in Chemistry in the provincial-level competition.

To fully utilize her abilities and strengths, Hang applied to take the entrance exam for the 10th grade at Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School. With a strong foundation of knowledge, Hang reaped the rewards, achieving an outstanding score of 48.35 points.

In particular, she achieved two perfect scores of 10 in Mathematics and English, 8.75 in Literature, and 9.8 in Chemistry. It is known that with these scores, Hang is not only the top student in the Chemistry specialized class but also has the highest total admission score ever at Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School.

“After the exams ended, I knew I would get good grades, but when I received the results showing I had the highest score in the entire school, I was completely surprised. I am truly happy and joyful because after all my efforts and hard work, I have achieved the result I hoped for. And to achieve this result, I have received a lot of support from the school, teachers, family, and friends,” Hang confided.

Sharing about her academic achievements, Hang said that throughout her middle school years, she always tried to study all subjects equally well. At school, she paid attention to the teachers' lectures, grasped the knowledge in class, and continued to review and supplement her knowledge in the evening. To do well in Chemistry, the core thing is to have a solid grasp of the theory and complete all the exercises for each type of problem.

Besides studying in class, Hang also learns and solves advanced problems online. “Every day, I solve many problems and correct each mistake so I don't make the same mistakes again. In particular, I really enjoy solving difficult problems; each time I finish one, I feel like I've gained new knowledge, and that makes me even more eager to explore and learn new things that Chemistry has to offer,” Hang shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Van, a chemistry teacher at Vo Ninh Secondary School, said: “Thuy Hang is a diligent and well-behaved student with excellent study habits, especially a high level of self-discipline and self-study. She has a talent for natural sciences and particularly learns very quickly. Hang is always proactive in her studies, frequently asking many questions, demonstrating her curiosity and thirst for knowledge. With her outstanding academic achievements, her success in the entrance exam to Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School is well-deserved.”

I dream of becoming a doctor.

In sharing her dream, Thuy Hang expressed her wish to become a doctor in the future so she can treat people, especially the disadvantaged in society such as the poor and those in difficult circumstances. Hang said that becoming a doctor is a dream that began to form when she was a child and has stayed with her throughout her studies.

"My mother works in the healthcare industry, so since I was little, I've understood the hardships faced by doctors and nurses. Every time I watch TV and see doctors saving patients on the brink of life and death, or when medical teams bravely venture into 'epidemic hotspots' to treat patients and contribute to the country, I feel immense admiration."

"From then on, a burning desire to become a doctor to cure people's illnesses constantly stirred in my mind. Therefore, since my middle school years, I have nurtured the dream of becoming a doctor someday, and that is the motivation for me to strive to achieve it," Hang shared.

Throughout her studies, Hang has received unwavering encouragement and support from her family. “My husband and I have always supported her and tried our best to create the best conditions for her studies. Seeing her desire to become a doctor, I encouraged her to study hard to achieve good results so she could pursue her passion,” shared Ms. Mai Thi Tuoi, Hang's mother.

With the title of top student in Chemistry and top scorer in the entrance exam to 10th grade at Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School, Thuy Hang has laid a solid foundation for her future. In the coming time, Hang hopes to excel in her studies at Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School and continue to realize her dream of becoming a doctor. Her next goal is to participate in the national excellent student selection exam and strive for high achievements.

Daring to dream and always nurturing her determination through relentless study, Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang is now gradually turning her dreams into reality. The road ahead is long and full of challenges, but we believe that with her own determination and the support of her family, Hang will achieve even better results in the future.
