"Overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", proudly following under the national flag (Part 3)

On September 2, the most magnificent military parade in the past 80 years officially took place at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi. Besides the parade groups of the Vietnamese armed forces and some friendly countries, there were also 12 mass groups and 1 cultural and sports group. Regardless of the rain or shine, thousands of workers, farmers, intellectuals, artists, veterans, and former police officers also "overcame the sun and rain", devoting all their efforts with boundless pride to have the most magnificent and successful ceremony.

Passing on revolutionary fire to the young generation

Unable to hide his tired and sweaty face after a long training session, Colonel Dinh Trong Long, a member of the Vietnam Veterans Bloc, said that the entire bloc had 190 people selected but only 160 were allowed to participate in the official parade. Most of them were people who had gone through difficult but glorious years, fighting across battlefields, and together with the army and people of the whole country, establishing many glorious feats in the great resistance wars of the nation.

He himself fought in many fierce battlefields, in the resistance war against the US to save the country, from Quang Tri to the Central Highlands, with the army to liberate the South and unify the country; joined the volunteer army in Cambodia; and fought in the war to protect the northern border.

Participating in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd is a great honor and the greatest responsibility of veterans. Every step on Ba Dinh Square, veterans do not only do it for themselves but also for their fallen comrades. In the past few days, he also met many old comrades. Recalling the past, everyone felt lucky, proud of their comrades, and tearfully remembered those who fell on the battlefields of the past.

Colonel Dinh Trong Long also said that in the Vietnam Veterans' Bloc, the oldest person is 77-78 years old. The days of training, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal, and gathering schedule are getting more and more crowded. The "iron-skinned" soldiers of decades ago, although no longer having the health of their youth, still diligently wake up at 5am every morning, sometimes earlier, to complete their tasks with their comrades. Everyone is tired but still encourages each other to try harder to promote the good tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", set a shining example, and inspire the revolutionary spirit for today's young generation.

Major Bui Thi Thao, a member of the Former Police Force Bloc, also proudly shared that to be able to stand in the parade formation of the Bloc until today, former police officers must ensure many conditions, including health, appearance, enthusiasm, and determination. Having worked for many years with the Cau Giay District Police (old), Hanoi , having held many positions, completed her duties, and retired for many years, the former female police officer still follows the news every day.

Proud and happy about the country's growth and development, she and her comrades, although retired under the State's regime, still strive to work in the locality. When there was information about recruiting people to participate in the parade, all former members of the People's Public Security Forces currently living in the locality registered. After much suspense and waiting, the members of the group were all happy because 100% were selected because they met both physical and mental requirements.

Of the 180 members recruited into the Former Public Security Forces Bloc, 160 were allowed to participate in the official parade. The Public Security Forces officers who did not fear hardships, sacrifices, fought on the battlefields during the resistance war, and faced dangers on the front line of crime prevention and control continued to uphold their traditions, did not fear difficulties, and contributed to the great celebration of the country.

With passionate hearts, the former police officers followed a regular training schedule, waking up at 5am and eating early to get to the meeting point on time. Rainy days, they practiced indoors. Sunny days, they practiced outdoors. Now, they are all ready for the day they can proudly march across the historic Ba Dinh Square in the official parade.

Promoting the spirit of August Revolution and National Day September 2 in the new era

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, there are 13 groups participating in the parade on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square, including 12 mass groups and one culture and sports group. Each group has 160 people. After practicing in each group, all of them gathered for many days of practice at My Dinh National Stadium, continued to rehearse and rehearse at Ba Dinh Square before the official parade at the grand ceremony.

The masses worked hard in the sun to prepare for the great festival.

It is known that in addition to the Vietnam Veterans Bloc and the Vietnam Former People's Public Security Bloc, the parade at the ceremony also included the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bloc - a symbol of the great national unity bloc, where the will, aspiration and strength of all classes of people crystallize. The bloc represents the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, symbolizing the spirit of solidarity, harmony, coexistence and development on the S-shaped land.
