VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper is a small newsroom but has demonstrated creativity, professionalism and in fact surpassed larger units to win the award.
That is the assessment of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) Expert Council at the 2025 Digital Media Awards (DMA 2025) held on April 23-25 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Accordingly, the work "70 years of liberating the Capital: Sacred and Glorious Hanoi" by VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper was honored in the category "Best Innovative Digital Product".
The work was launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), and is one of the first interactive 3D products of Vietnamese press, bringing a completely new experience to readers.

At www.vietnamplus.vn/70namhanoi , historical stories will be told vividly in a different format, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the story. The heroic history of the capital Hanoi in particular, and of the nation in general, is told through unique interactive 3D technology, with mouse scrolls (on desktop) or by "swiping" on the smartphone screen.
This is the second time VietnamPlus has received the prestigious award from WAN-IFRA. Previously, on September 28, 2014, the editorial office’s rap news (RapNewsPlus) received the first prize in the special category “Digital First” honoring news publishers who have taken creative measures to attract young people to participate through mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices.

The Asia Digital Media Awards, organized by WAN-IFRA, aims to recognize and honor pioneering and innovative media agencies in implementing digital media strategies. According to the Organizing Committee, this year's competition is highly competitive with 193 entries from Asian press and media agencies.
“The achievements of small units like VietnamPlus have reinforced the spirit of the award while honoring innovation and excellence regardless of the size of the unit,” said a representative of the Organizing Committee.
Asia's leading media organization, SPH Media, was the big winner at this year's DMA, with a total of nine awards./.
