Taking us to visit the medicinal chicken farming model of Hop Tien Cooperative in village 3, comrade Trinh Quoc Hoan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Dal commune introduced: Medicinal chicken farming in the commune develops rapidly, the chickens are healthy, when sold, each chicken weighs from 3-3.5 kg, the selling price is about 120,000 VND/kg. Mr. Le Van Hao - Director of the Cooperative said that the main medicinal herbs are lemongrass, turmeric... after harvesting, the leaves and stems will be taken, then ground into bran and mixed together to make chicken feed.
According to this model, growing medicinal herbs is not only for chicken feed but also helps people earn extra income from selling medicinal stems and roots. As for lemongrass, in addition to being used as chicken feed, it is also cooked into essential oil, mixed with water for chickens to drink to increase resistance. Each hectare of lemongrass yields about 30 tons of lemongrass stems; each month, the Cooperative sells 25-30 liters of lemongrass essential oil to the market. As for turmeric, in addition to using stems and leaves as chicken feed, the roots are processed into turmeric starch. On average, each hectare of turmeric yields about 30 tons of roots. Other medicinal herbs are similar, in addition to being processed into chicken feed, they are also processed into by-products, depending on the type, there are different processing procedures.
Along with the key task of Party building and economic development, after 3 years of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Ia Dal Commune Party Congress (term 2020-2025) with the high determination of the entire political system, especially the consensus among the people, the commune's socio-economy continues to be stable and develop positively and in the right direction.
