In the other match of the round of 16, Real Madrid won a thrilling 3-2 victory over Dortmund. In this match, Los Blancos led their opponents 2-0 after only 20 minutes with two goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia.
It was not until the 90+3 minute that Dortmund had a goal to reduce the score to 1-2 thanks to Beier. However, just 1 minute later, Mbappe marked his return with a goal to increase the score to 3-1. In the 90+8 minute, Guirassy scored but it was not enough to help Dortmund reverse the score.
