O Lam commune was established on the basis of merging Luong Phi, O Lam and An Tuc communes - 3 heroic communes of the People's Armed Forces. This is a locality rich in revolutionary traditions, with many historical and cultural relics and 2 national historical relics, the O Ta Soc revolutionary base and Tuc Dup hill. The whole commune has over 7,000 households, over 24,500 people, of which the Khmer people account for about 65%. With the goal of "taking the people as the root", since the merger, the Party Committee and the commune government have always paid attention to serving the people.

When asking about the support policy for families of meritorious people, Ms. Neang Rin, residing in Ta Miet hamlet, shared: "The officials explained very enthusiastically in Khmer, thanks to that, I and other people easily grasped the Party's policies and the State's policies towards ethnic minorities".

Chairman of the People's Committee of O Lam Commune, Phan Thanh Luong, said that the commune is mainly inhabited by ethnic minorities, so every cadre, civil servant, and worker at the center makes every effort to guide and support people when they come to resolve administrative procedures. In addition, the center also arranges cadres, civil servants, and public employees who are Khmer people to directly guide people. At the same time, the center always sets the goal of being friendly, resolving procedures quickly and effectively, and putting the satisfaction of people and businesses first.

At the first meeting of the People's Committee of the commune, the decisions to appoint 8 heads and deputy heads of specialized agencies and administrative organizations of the commune were announced, including: Office of the People's Council, People's Committee; Department of Culture - Society, Department of Economy; Center for Public Administration Services; approved the working regulations of the People's Committee of the commune for the term 2021 - 2026, the working program of the People's Committee of the commune in 2025. These are very important contents to promptly concretize the policies and directions of the province, ensuring unity and synchronization in state management. Focus on socio -economic development
On the basis of rearranging and reorganizing the apparatus, the People's Committee of O Lam commune set out the goals and plans for socio-economic development in 2025. Comrade Phan Thanh Luong said that the locality continues to promote its strengths in agricultural production associated with industry, services and tourism, focusing on expanding the area of fruit trees and specialty fruits on Dai Mountain and the land at the foot of Co To Mountain. At the same time, innovate production methods, convert crops and livestock; develop agriculture, especially the dyke area for three-crop production; strengthen the irrigation system in the hill area to serve the conversion of color production... In particular, develop agricultural models in the direction of applying high technology, adapting to climate change, associated with the construction of concentrated production areas, value chains, traceability, product brands and products meeting OCOP standards. At the same time, strengthen digital transformation in agriculture, gradually approach e-commerce platforms and digital payments in product consumption.
