Building a set of 28 provincial socio-economic statistical indicators after the merger

In preparation for the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress, the Ministry of Finance has proactively and actively coordinated with ministries, branches and localities to develop a set of socio-economic statistical indicators at the provincial and communal levels to serve the Party Congresses at the provincial and communal levels for the 2025-2030 term.

On that basis, 28 socio -economic statistical indicators (including economic indicators, environmental indicators and social indicators) at the provincial level will be proposed, compiled and synthesized according to 34 provinces and centrally-run cities (new) for the period 2010 - 2025 and thereby, building a basic growth scenario for the period 2026 - 2030 of the 34 localities after the merger.

Economic indicators include: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), GRDP growth rate at comparable prices, GRDP per capita, the proportion of added value of the digital economy in GRDP, state budget, investment capital implemented in the area at current prices, and the ratio of investment capital implemented in the area to GRDP.

Regarding the environment, there are 5 indicators: Forest coverage rate , hazardous waste collection and treatment rate, medical waste treatment rate, urban solid waste collection and treatment rate meeting standards and regulations, and the rate of industrial parks and export processing zones in operation with centralized wastewater treatment systems meeting environmental standards.

At the same time, there are 16 social indicators such as: Population, average life expectancy at birth, human development index (HDI), number of employed workers in the economy...

This is an important set of indicators, implemented to serve the construction of documents for the Provincial and Commune Party Congresses (assessing the current situation and determining goals for the upcoming period) and to serve the leadership, direction and administration of the Party Committees and authorities at both levels.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Finance, the development of a set of socio-economic statistical indicators at the provincial and communal levels will fully and comprehensively reflect the economic, social and environmental fields, ensuring consistency, unity, comparability and feasibility in measurement and quantification; at the same time, it will serve as a basis for evaluating the results of the past term and determining the direction, goals, targets and development tasks for the next term.
