Building a strong and widespread capital militia force

Kinhtedothi - On March 25, the Hanoi Capital Command held a ceremony to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Militia and Self-Defense Force's Traditional Day (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025).

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the 90-year tradition of building, fighting, growing and glorious victory of the Vietnam militia and self-defense force in general and the Hanoi Capital militia and self-defense force in particular.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Dao Van Nhan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Hanoi Capital Command emphasized that after 90 years of construction, fighting and growing, under the leadership of the City Party Committee and the Resistance Committee, the Capital's militia and self-defense force has developed rapidly, becoming the core force to protect the rallies and demonstrations of the revolutionary masses, protecting the Party's leadership agencies, and being the shock force with the main force and local troops in attacking and destroying the enemy in the Capital.

During the 2020-2025 term, implementing Program No. 09-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Strengthening national defense and security potential to maintain political security and social order and safety in the city in the period of 2021-2025", the city has established 10 district-level standing militia platoons, 156 commune-level standing militia squads and built 206 working headquarters for the commune-level Military Command.

The rate of party members in the militia and self-defense force reached over 23%, the reserve force reached over 10%, exceeding the target set by Program No. 09-CTr/TU. Up to now, basically the Commanders of the Commune Military Command have been standardized, with qualifications from intermediate level or higher, 65.5% have college or university degrees. By the end of 2025, 75-80% will have college or university degrees. Training work is increasingly innovated in content and methods, close to the requirements, tasks and practical situation of the locality, with increasingly high quality and efficiency...

Major General Dao Van Nhan requested the Capital's militia and self-defense force to continue promoting its heroic tradition and glorious feats, arousing national pride and self-esteem, enhancing patriotism, the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant, overcoming all difficulties and challenges; striving to build a strong national defense, building a national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture. On this occasion, the Hanoi Capital Command awarded 19 collectives and 30 individuals with outstanding achievements in building the militia and self-defense force.
